Should I repair or remove the concrete?

First things first—deciding which approach is best for addressing your concrete project.

Generally, complete concrete removal is your best option if any of the following are occurring on your driveway, patio, sidewalk, or slab:
  • Frost heave - part of the concrete is pushed up due to the frost that occurs in colder climates.
  • Multiple cracks - wide and deep cracks that are uneven/settled on one side.
  • Settled concrete - caused by the subgrade's improper preparation.

  • Simply repairing the concrete may be the more cost-effective and faster option in these situations:

  • Thin cracks - small, hairline cracks with no evidence of settling.
  • Sunken concrete - caused by heavy object or load (e.g., a heavy truck) that was placed on the concrete.
  • Keep in mind that: If there is widespread damage, patching cracks and resurfacing concrete may end up being a waste of money, because the same problems will be back eventually.

  • We can removal your old concrete or blacktop driveways, brick or concrete patios, sidewalks & steps.

Your driveway is the introduction to your house. It’s something you use and look at every day. We can remove your old concrete or blacktop driveway and prep. for a new one. After removal, we place a 4 to 6 inch gravel base which is necessary for a quality driveway. This will make up for any material that is removed during excavation of an existing driveway and help prevent possible deterioration. It is recommended that a thicknesses of 6 - 8 inches is used over clay type soils because they have trouble draining. A thickness of 4 inches is often used over sandy soils.

If you don't have a driveway or adding on to a existing one, we can do that. We also excavate for patios, and so on.

    What is site preparation?

Site prep is the work done on your land prior to construction of a new home for examlpe–finalizing location details, gaining access to the site, drainage, and more. This process allows you to identify site complications up front and address them before construction begins.

Site preparation can also mean setting up any area on your land like prepping for the installation of a new lawn for example. There are a number of diverse types of site preparation.

    Retaining Walls:

We are serious about retainment. All wall installations are Engineered through CAD software to stand the test of time.

Retaining walls are not merely decorative. They must withstand an incredible amount of force from the earth they are holding back. This force is known as lateral earth pressure. And that pressure is not static throughout the year. If the earth behind the wall becomes saturated with rainwater, the increase in hydrostatic pressure puts even more strain on your retaining wall.

Unfortunately, improperly built retaining walls fail during a period of increased rain. Depending on their placement in your landscape, a failing retaining wall could either be a frustrating inconvenience requiring expensive repairs, or an even more worrisome event that threatens the stability of your home. Give us a call to discuss your project.
